Lay's Netherlands is hosting their Maak de Smaak (Make the Taste) contest right now... Looks like there are some pretty cool flavors in the running. Spicy Reggae Chicken? That name alone is awesome. I'm having trouble translating some of the other flavors so if you know what they are please drop some knowledge on the comments section. You can click on the image above for a bigger version if you'd like to read them all more clearly.
In August 2012, 3 flavors will be released in stores (2 flavors voted for online and a 3rd chosen by judges as a "wildcard"). From there, the 3 flavors will be voted on and there will ultimately be 1 who is victorious. Can't wait to see what flavors end up being chosen! Update to come!
Wow, that's an impressive lineup there! The winner of the previous Laak de Smaak contest were these Joppie Sauce chips (http://chipsterdiaries.blogspot.fr/2012/01/lays-limited-edition-patatje-joppie.html), which I thought were completely awesome. But REGGAE CHICKEN- it's musical, and possibly high- though the technical term for jamaican style chicken is generally 'jerk chicken', which sounds rather insolent.
ReplyDeleteYa, The Pataje Joppie ones were a huge hit! These are supposed to pick the flavor that will replace them. I never got to try them, but I've heard people love them. I also still haven't really figured out what Joppie sauce tastes like (obviously because they don't have it in the states and its hard to translate a lot of sites talking about the sauce) so I don't really have an idea of what it actually tastes like. But considering how unique and successful that flavor was, Im sure this year's will be just as good. I'm a little curious as to what Caesar Red Onion is supposed to taste like too. :)
